Looking for things to do in and around Chicago this weekend? Don’t miss an art exhibit in Glenview, a play in Glencoe, and shopping discounts in Lake Forest. Plus, Bernadette Peters returns to Chicago and a new season of Chicago’s First Lady river cruises begins.
March 30 to April 2
Visit The Grove this weekend to see paintings and sculptures by internationally known artist Dennis Downes of Lake County. A portion of all sales will go to support The Grove, which will also host a free trail walk on April 1.
Bernadette Peters returns to Chicago for the first time in more than 10 years to make her debut at Auditorium Theatre. The Boston Pops Esplanade Orchestra will perform George Gershwin pieces before Peters performs Broadway and American classics.
Begins April 1
A new season of Chicago’s First Lady cruises begins April 1. This is the only cruise partnered with the Chicago Architecture Foundation (CAF), so don’t miss your chance to explore our favorite city with a 90-minute river tour complete with indoor and outdoor seating and a full service bar. Best of all, a portion of ticket sales support architecture education by CAF.
Ends April 2
If you haven’t yet seen “The Scene” at Writers Theatre, this weekend is your last chance to do so. Resident Director Kimberly Senior returned to Writers Theatre for this play after directing Pulitzer Prize-winner “Disgraced” on Broadway.
