With the North Shore Taco Fest, an ice cream social in Evanston, and the Chicago Craft Beer Festival, it’s another great weekend for foodies. Plus, make a difference at LEGOLAND Discovery Center Chicago and tour the city by land and lake.
More than 20 restaurants, caterers and food trucks will showcase their best taco creations at this event, which is combined with Highwood Days, and attendees will vote for Most Authentic Taco, Most Unique Taco, Spiciest Taco and Best Tasting Healthy Taco. Plus, the North Shore Taco 5K Run & Walk on July 22 will benefit Highland Park-Highwood Legal Aid Clinic.
This annual festival brings together more than 35 local, regional and national craft brewers for tastings of more than 70 craft beers. Plus, the event is held alongside the Sheffield Music Festival and Garden Walk, which features music, food, kids activities, and garden and architectural tours.
Before the summer ends, play tourist in your own city with a Chicago Land, Lake & River Tour. This seasonal tour includes a two-day Hop On Hop Off Tour with Chicago Trolley & Double Decker Co. plus a Mercury Cruises Urban Adventure or Chicago By Night Cruise.
Through July 31
It’s a kids versus adults showdown at LEGOLAND Discovery Center Chicago this month. Kids and grown-ups will build their best LEGO creations in five minutes. A Master Model Builder will choose the winner, who will score a point for their favorite participating charity: Ronald McDonald House Charities of Chicagoland & Northwest Indiana, Easterseals, After School Matters or Big Brothers Big Sisters. The charity with the most points at the end of the month will receive 40,000 LEGO bricks and the other charities will receive 20,000 bricks.
