The 62nd Annual Ginza Holiday Festival, a Japanese cultural festival, will be presented by the Midwest Buddhist Temple in Old Town, on August 11, 12 and 13.
Our festival will feature the following demonstrations and food: Four Master craftsmen (Waza) will be flown in from Tokyo to demonstrate their generations-old skills creating their unique crafts; Japanese cultural exhibits and booths will be filled with Japanese textiles, snacks, kimonos, t-shirts, artwork and jewelry; ongoing stage performances will be featured including taiko drumming, Japanese folk dancing and martial arts demonstrations; MBT’s famous grilled chicken teriyaki, sushi, Spam musubi, cold udon, BBQ corn, Hawaiian shave ice and Japanese beer will be offered. This year marks the 20th anniversary of Ho Etsu Taiko and the 40th anniversary of MBT Taiko so a special performance with both groups is scheduled for Saturday evening at 7:30 p.m.
