After School Matters Annual Gala to Celebrate Chicago Teens

More than 100 of Chicago teens will showcase their talents at the After School Matters Annual Gala on Monday, September 18, 2017 at the new Wintrust Arena. These teens represent a sample of the more than 17,000 teens who participated in After School Matters this year. The Annual Gala will celebrate and highlight Chicago teens’ exemplary work through a variety of displays and performances. Nearly 1,000supporters and guests are expected to attend the annual fundraising event. They will have the opportunity to shop for teen-created artwork, engage in hands-on exhibits and watch performances put on by the teens.

About After School Matters

After School Matters provides Chicago high school teens with high quality, out-of-school time opportunities to explore and develop their talents while gaining critical skills for work, college and beyond. Since 1991, more than 200,000 teens have participated in our hands-on, project-based after-school and summer programs in the arts, communications and leadership, STEM and sports. Programs take place at locations throughout the city including Chicago public high schools, Chicago Park District and Chicago Public Library locations, community-based organizations, The Michael and Karyn Lutz Center for After School Matters and downtown at the Gallery 37 Center for the Arts.
