Our Second Annual National Caregiving Conference will take place on Friday, November 10, and Saturday, November 11, at the Chicago Marriott O’Hare, conveniently located minutes from O’Hare and a subway ride from downtown Chicago. The hotel is located at 8535 W. Higgins in Chicago.
Our Boldest Hours, this year’s conference theme, refers to our time spent before, during and after our caregiving experience. The theme also encourages us to take bold action before, during and after our conference.
You’ll want to attend our conference if:
–You care for a family member or friend (family caregiver);
–You cared for a family member or friend (former family caregiver);
–You work with (or want to work with) family caregivers, either in your own business or in an organization or agency (a professional). In addition, we welcome anyone with an interest in issues facing family caregivers and former family caregivers.
Teepa Snow, a nationally-recognized dementia care expert, will provide a two-hour workshop on November 11. Cathy Sikorki, the winner of our Keynote Conference contest, will share her experiences as a 25-year family caregiver for seven different family members and friends. Our conference also includes two special summits which take a closer look at how a caregiving experience impacts our workplace and our houses of workshop. Our workshops and sessions feature presentations and panel discussions from those who currently care or previously cared for a family member or friend.
We’ve been approved to provide 7 CEUs for Friday’s program and 5 CEUs for Saturday’s program (12 in total for the conference) for health care professionals, allied health care professionals, Certified Dementia Practitioners and Certified Senior Advisors.
