Hey curmudgeons! Avoid complaining and crabbiness for 24 hours during the Great American Grump Out.
Celebrating its 10-year anniversary, the Great American Grump Out was started by Janice A. Hathy, who has a bachelor’s degree in education from Kent State University and owns Smile Mania, which provides stress management resources and presentations to schools and businesses.
On her company’s website, Hathy says the goals of the Grump Out include reducing unhealthy stress, increasing fun and giving Americans the opportunity to be playful, friendly and loving for just one day.
How to celebrate: For 24 hours, refrain from grumpiness at all costs—try smiling instead of frowning, and enjoying what life gives you instead of what it doesn’t. And be sure to spread the word of the Grump Out to your grouchiest friends!
