Five inspiring people will win the 2012 Purpose Prize—and $100,000 each—for improving their communities and the world.
Encore Careers is looking for people in the second half of life who've transitioned from previous jobs to new careers with passion, purpose and, in many cases, a paycheck.
This prize is sponsored by Encore, which encourages people over the age of 50 to find meaningful work.
Winners from 2011 and previous years include the founder of Walnut Way Conservation Corp., founder of Beyondmedia Education and the founder of the Harvey Brooks Foundation.
For more information about the 2012 Purpose Prize and how to apply, go to encore.org.
