Cool Temps, Warm Hues: Fall Color Trends for Home and Fashion

Whether you want to refresh your home décor or update your wardrobe, the color trend this fall calls for warm hues, according to Leatrice Eiseman, executive director of the Pantone Color Institute. “Bookended by a dynamic Grenadine red and a tawny Autumn Maple, the color palette for Fall 2017 leans more toward warmth,” she says.

You’ll see the top 10 Pantone shades pictured above, and variations of them, in solids and prints, in everything from fashion and jewelry to tabletop, decorative accessories and accent pieces for your home.

Neutral Gray and Navy Peony are alternative neutrals to black. They pair well together or with accents of pale Ballet Slipper pink, Tawny Port burgundy or deep Shaded Spruce. Traditional fall colors such as burgundy, orange and brown take on new looks when coupled with Golden Lime green, bright Marina blue, or powerful Grenadine red.

Mix and match solids and patterns (including florals, abstracts, stripes and graphic patterns) to create your own unique look. The floral patterns pictured here incorporate multiple hues for the season. Reach for a rich leather handbag, unique jewelry and cozy outerwear to complete the look. Add pops of color to other ensembles with a bright hat, scarf, shawl or tote.
