Calling all moms and dads of little “Puppy Dog Pals” fanatics! If Disney Junior’s answer to “Paw Patrol” is on heavy rotation in your household (and that earworm of a theme song is on repeat in your head), you’re going to want to set your DVR for next Saturday morning, Jan. 25, at 9:30am on Disney Channel. In the new episode, “Windy City,” Chicago takes center stage as everyone’s favorite pug puppies, Bingo and Rolly, head out on an important mission to help their owner Bob (voiced by series creator Harland Williams). Bob has run into some trouble with a new kite invention — and could use some special weather help from our “windiest” of cities (probably a little early to teach toddlers about those blustery politicians and the real source of Chi-town’s famous nickname).
Parents who long ago ceded control of the morning TV programming will have fun pointing out some of Chicago’s most famous landmarks and hearing the voice of Ernie Hudson (of “Ghostbusters” and “Grace and Frankie” fame), who guest stars as Buddy the dog in a musical nod to “Blues Brothers.”
“Puppy Dog Pals” is in its second season on Disney Junior, alongside other longstanding favorites like “Mickey Mouse Clubhouse,” “Doc McStuffins,” and “The Lion Guard,” plus uber-popular newcomers like “Vampirina” and “Fancy Nancy.” Young Disney fans will love catching up on these and plenty of other Disney programming on demand and on the DisneyNow App.
If watching the shows on repeat isn’t enough, and a winter trip to Disney resorts or on a Disney cruise isn’t in the cards, kids can still catch all of their favorite Disney Junior characters live on stage at one of several Chicagoland theaters this March in Disney Junior Dance Party! On Tour.
