Make It Better Foundation finds and funds the most effective nonprofits making a difference.

The Philanthropy Awards is our annual competition to identify, elevate, and amplify these causes. The Make It Better Foundation’s Academy of Judges — a vibrant community of esteemed venture philanthropists, past winners, sponsors and thought leaders — selects winners based on excellence, scalability, efficiency, leadership and effectiveness.

Award packages include a suite of support that brings the nonprofit’s mission to life:

  • $10,000 cash gift
  • professionally-recorded promotion package
  • nonprofit leadership education scholarships
  • 12-month Better media sponsorship
  • celebration event during the week of National Philanthropy Day

Organizations that serve the Chicagoland area, or that have a national focus may apply.
